For the holiday's we visited some of the boutiques who carry Face Time Cosmetics. We traveled to Tampa, Palm Beach, Los Angeles, Miami, and even visited some stores in Manhattan and Queens! We got a little "Face Time" with some of our best customers as we were on a mission to provide holiday makeup for all!

Interview with Jamie Mark;Marketing Manager, Events & Promotions for Intermix

Jamie Mark
27
Marketing Manager, Events & Promotions for Intermix

Linsey: How did you work your way up the ladder and get to where you are now in your career?
Jamie: I started out as a sales associate at the Intermix Columbus Avenue store in NYC when there were only 5 stores. I petitioned my way into the office where I was able to build a marketing department from scratch. For the last three and a half years I have opened 15 new stores and executed all of Intermix's special events and promotions.

Linsey: What are your favorite things about working for Intermix?
Jamie: Great clothes and fun people!

Linsey: What is your daily routine?
Jamie
: Early wake up, feed my puggle Rufus Charles, gym (if it’s a good day), walk with Rufus, shower, quick blow dry and pretty simple make-up. I am super into moisturizing and put on Velvet Veil as soon as I get out of the shower. Other make-up is just a little powder, some blush and a lip gloss (I like High Glass in Peace because it is natural with a little kick and stays on!). Work by 8.30 or 9 and then usually some kind of event straight after. I’ll do a quick make-up touch up, add a little Jamie’s Gem Well-to-Hue (I love the golden olive color and of course the name) and mascara, a spritz of perfume (I love Jo Malone) and then I’m out the door. Before I go to bed, I ALWAYS wash my face.

Linsey: How does your beauty routine fit in to your busy day?
Jamie: It has to be simple and quick to work for me because I am super impatient and hate to spend too much time on grooming. At the same time, I am pretty vain so I want to make sure the products I have work for me. I also LOVE lipgloss and always have several in every handbag. I reapply throughout the day at work to keep my lips moisturized and looking pretty.

Linsey: What Face Time products do you use and why?
Jamie: Jamie’s Gem is clearly my favorite, Velvet Veil, High Glass lip glosses (I like the Cellophane because it's not tacky like most Glass glosses and I love Desire for night) and I love the brushes because they feel so soft and luxurious against my skin, plus I can pop the brush kit in my purse or bag for touch ups!!!

Linsey: Do you have any Face Time product tips you can share?
Jamie
: Yes! Instead of just applying Velvet Veil on my face, I use it on my eyelids and lips...it holds my gloss and eye shadow and evens out my skin and gives it great texture. It prevents feathering on my lips and makes application with eye shadow smoother.

HOW DO YOU BUY MAKEUP?

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

We had the pleasure of doing an amazing event with Quintessentially and Intermix at the Intermix store on Madison Avenue. Face Time did makeovers on all of the guests and everyone left looking gorgeous! Everyone loved the
Beauty In a Box concept and they were able to choose which "look" they wanted...
The products looked amazing mixed in with the clothes...I think that makeup counters are so OVER and I hate going to that "other floor"...I feel like I have to dodge all of the sales people! What do you think? Do you like shopping for makeup on a floor dedicated to cosmetics or would you prefer buying makeup along with your clothes or online without all of that pressure from sales associates?

Let us know by emailing us at
hauteline@facetimecosmetics.com
and we will post your reply...with every reply you will have a chance to win a FREE Well-to-Hue Eyeshadow!

Here are some pictures of the event! Tell us what you think!

Kimberly D.: I maybe one of those few girls who actually enjoy walking through the makeup counters at a department store...
I like sniffing out all the new goodies and I usually have an aggressive sales girl grab me, sit me down and try some new colors on me. Of course, I never leave the counter empty handed and I usually end up walking away with more products than I need!
Keeping the makeup routine simple is essential and I think a nice foundation primer is the fundamental first step of every application! I can't wait to try your velvet veil in addition to all the gorgeous shades of your well to hue shadows!!

CharCA
: I like shopping for makeup without the pressure of sales people. So many times I get pressured into buying products I never use. I think buying makeup at department stores is something of the past.

Vivigirl
: I usually buy makeup when I hear from a friend that it is good or read about in a magazine. I rarely go to a store to buy. It's all usually done over the net.

Lorie
: I actually hate buying makeup online, but all of my friends love it! I don't know..I just would rather buy at a store.
